Iran's Exploration Operations in 2006 and its Comparison to Previous Years
Date:
Sunday 16 September 2007
Statistics of Iran's exploration operations in 2006 expose the expenses of about Rls 728 bn.
Although the major exploration figures submitted worldwide is associated with metal minerals, the dimension of construction materials is remarkable in Iran, thus it is mentioned in exploration figures.
The expenses of minerals exploration in second group was about Rls 450 bn in 2006.
In 2002 the exploration expense was about Rls 117 bn, so the process of its increase to Rls 450 bn by 2006 is noteworthy.
Elsewhere, the measure of exploration drilling grows from 50000 meters in 2003 to 144000 meters in 2006.
The presented report is compiled by Exploration Department of IMIDRO, contributed by Provinces Mining and Industries Organizations as well as Geological Survey of Iran.
The prospect of the report is to present the statistics of exploration operations as the major factor for country's mining affairs and explorations planning since the statistics are of great importance for directing mangers attention.
In the report, the volume of operation undertaken by private section, Geological Survey of Iran as well as IMIDRO's subsidiaries is categorized according to both types of minerals (first group, second group and decorative stones) and country's provinces, likewise. Obviously it is to expose a great perspective for provinces explorations.
It is worthy to mention that first group comprises of sand, grit, limestone, clay, etc, likewise the second group comprises iron ore, gold, chromium, Lead, zinc, copper, mica, kaolin, talc, gem stones, all kinds of coals, etc.
In 2006, the greatest spending for mineral exploration was about Rls 310 bn by private section and total amount of digging was about 106000 meters by IMIDRO.
Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization spent about Rls 300 bn as the greatest amount for minerals of second group.
IMIDRO's exploration operations are fruitful for boosting firm sources as well as probable iron ore and coal resources.
There is also possibility for registering and providing more information of prospecting mineral resources for private section and Geological Survey of Iran through great attempt.
